Tony Ward Shares His Journey at ACH25

      2025-04-20

In a room filled with future changemakers and creative leaders, Tony Ward took the stage at Harvard Medical School as a guest speaker for the 17th edition of the Arab Conference at Harvard (ACH25).

This year’s theme, “Transforming Today: Unity, Innovation, and Prosperity,” brought together voices from across the Arab world to reflect on culture, leadership, and transformation. Invited to speak on fashion as a form of cultural resilience and collective identity, Tony Ward shared the journey of the house — from Beirut to Paris — and how creativity can be a powerful response to adversity (always!).

Being part of this event wasn’t just a milestone for us, it was a moment to pause, share, and reconnect with the essence of why we do what we do.

    • In conversation with the brilliant Yasmin Daas, Tony spoke about the journey of the house, one that began decades ago in Beirut and continues to evolve across continents. From the early days of his father’s atelier, Elie Ward, to today’s runway shows in Paris, the path has never been linear. “We had to create beauty in the most unthinkable circumstances,” he said, recalling the time the atelier continued designing amidst turmoil, sirens, and shattered windows.

The dresses projected on the large Harvard screen weren’t  just  gowns — they were a symbol. Of continuity. Of commitment. Of the hands that stitched through silence and uncertainty to deliver a collection that held meaning beyond fabrics and design.

Tony also opened up about sustainability and responsibility in fashion. How creativity today must carry weight, not just shape. He shared stories behind upcycled gowns, reimagined embroideries, and the craftsmanship that goes into preserving both materials and memory.

    • The discussion was not about timelines or trends. It was about people. Our team, who stayed. Our community, who believed, and still believes. Our clients, who carry a story every time they wear a piece from the house.

As images of the Couture collections flashed on screen and questions flowed from the audience, one message stood out: true design doesn’t exist in isolation. It exists in conversation. In reflection. And in resilience.

We left the stage feeling proud with a warm heart to showcase the world not only of where we’ve been, but of how far we've come, and of what lies ahead.

To the ACH25 team and everyone who welcomed us so warmly in Boston: thank you.

And to our Tony Ward community — from Beirut to Paris to Boston — thank you for continuing to believe in craft with heart…

As Tony always says ‘Onto the next one!’
