Lights, cameras, El Gouna! Last night was one for the books.

      2025-10-17

The red carpet was shimmering in all senses, and not just with camera flashes, but with movement, with motions, with colors, but also of course with the super edgy lineup of celebrities in Tony Ward’s creations. The opening ceremony of the El Gouna Film Festival 2025 brought together a powerful Arab cinema’s leading names, each dressed in a piece that portrayed its own story and style.

As the evening unfolded by the Red Sea, it wasn’t about who wore what, but rather howthey wore it. From sculpted drapes to molten textures, the silhouettes carried the spirit of cinematic expression Tony Ward is known for: bold with details, a classic, yet wearable.

Nelly Karimopened the night in a striking chartreuse gown from the Couture Spring Summer 2025 collection, styled by Ingie El Mor. The off-shoulder silhouette and fluid draping moved like liquid light, a sculptural display of volume and form that caught every flash of the photographers. The look balanced structure with sensuality, it was a modern icon moment that felt both effortless yet commanding.

Saba Mubarak, styled by Cedric Haddad, opted for a tangerine one-shoulder gown from the Ready-to-Wear Spring Summer 2025 collection. The design combined sculptural strength and softness through its gathered bodice and high slit, creating movement with every step. It’s all about that saturated hue and daring cut that brought a confident edge to her red-carpet presence: vibrant, minimal, and ‘cool’!

    • Leila Eloui, a legend of Egyptian cinema, chose a gown from the Ready-to-Wear Fall Winter 2025/26 collection, that is currently in store. Styled by Maissa Azab, she wore a sequined dress with sheer sleeves and intricate black-and-silver embroidery that played with light and texture. The look evoked a nostalgic sense of screen glamour while feeling distinctly modern, we felt it was a nod to both legacy and reinvention.

Nicolas Mouawadstepped onto the carpet in a black sequined tuxedo from Tony Ward’s Men Capsule collection, styled byGeorges Chamoun. The sleek tailoring and subtle shimmer made for a look that merged classic menswear codes with a sharp contemporary finish… It was magnetic under the spotlight.

All together, they formed a visual conversation of a cast made of powerful personalities dressed in pieces that translated magical moments. Each look carried its own rhythm, its own frame within the cinematic narrative of the evening.

Tony Ward’s presence at El Gouna was not just a showcase of design or of pieces strolling down the Red Carpet, but of identity, of style. It was a reminder that fashion, like film, tells stories through movement, emotions, -and stitches of course! -  but most importantly it’s all about the people who bring them to life.
