Stories from Tony Ward’s Working Moms

      2025-03-21

At Tony Ward Fashion House, craftsmanship and creativity are part of our DNA. But behind the seams and sketches, there’s another story quietly unfolding. It’s the story of the women who juggle two very different worlds: motherhood and a career in fashion.

This Mother’s Day, we’re shining a light on these rockstars and working moms who help bring the collections to life while raising the next generation back at home.

Balancing a full-time job and family isn’t something you learn overnight. It is a process that requires energy, patience, and a lot of organization. As one mom on our team puts it, “When I’m at work, my focus is 100% on the job. But when I get home, I switch off from everything, my children deserve my full attention.”

    • Some days are harder than others. There are deadlines to meet, fittings to attend, and collections to deliver. And yet, the role of a mother never pauses. “You’re always trying to give your everything,” says another. “It’s a constant effort not to be short on anything or anyone. But we adapt, and so do our kids.”

The pace is relentless, especially in the fast world of Fashion. From early mornings in the atelier to evenings spent helping with homework “It’s hectic. You pour so much energy into work, then need to recharge, because there’s another shift waiting when you get home.”

But even in the middle of this daily balancing act, there’s a shared understanding among them. A quiet pride in managing both roles. “We learn to be patient with ourselves,” says one of our designers. “Not every day is perfect, but every day counts.”

    • And while their roles at Tony Ward are varied, from marketing and communication, to sales, design, embroidery and pattern making; They share the same goal and determination and it is to present at home and to lead by example, whether they’re in the atelier or with their kids. “My children see me working hard,” one team member says. “They see that you can be passionate about what you do and still be present for your family.”

As a fashion house, we’re proud of the dedication our mothers bring to both their craft and their families. Their resilience and commitment are stitched into every design that leaves our atelier.

This Mother’s Day, we celebrate them not just for what they create on the runway, but for the example they set every single day. And no matter what.
