Light on the SS23 Couture wedding dress

'Stardust Voyage', our Couture Spring Summer 23 collection was presented in Paris last week, at Palais de Tokyo. Nuances of gold and silver hand embroidered stars on a majestic wedding gown closed the show.

Clusters of stars, the bride appeared in a scintillating gold and silver celestial bustier gown. ‘This gown embodies the story of the couture collection, a Stardust Voyage’, Tony Ward says. A dreamy wedding dress coated in stardust. The infinite glimmers are composed of sparkles of Swarovski crystals, beads and finely embroidered gold silk thread. The accents of silver, gold and greige are woven together in a gradient effect capturing the light on the runway at Palais de Tokyo. The gem dress is crowned with a jewel headpiece finely incrusted with bits of sparkling diamond, and a delicately embroidered veil with tiny drops of beads and silver sequins. The overskirt is imagined with a unique shape and volume, majestic.

An intricate piece of craftsmanship, with fine pearls, sequins and crystals delicately embroidered by the atelier's ‘petites mains’, over weeks of meticulous work. The collection started with a reflection, a sentimental feeling, after the passing of couturier Elie Ward, Tony’s father, who founded Ward Atelier 70 years ago. He continued to work hand in hand with his son after the launch of the Tony Ward brand in 1997. The 'Stardust Voyage' collection marks the end of an era, a tribute to a couturier who now lights up the sky. Infinite twinkles.
