It’s almost that time of the year,
when the Promenade de la Croisette is bustling with celebrities from the four
corners of the world. Started in 1946 for the recognition of artistic
achievement, the rendez-vous is ON every year at the Festival de Cannes.
Time to let
the glamour flow, and wear that breathtaking, a tad daring dress that has been
hiding in your closet or in the (digital) pages of your favorite magazine. From
the era of Old Hollywood to today, little has changed. Sequins, glitters, bows
and ruffles, often monochrome; glamour with a dash of fun. We uncovered some
key tips to nail the right look on the Red Carpet and A-list parties.

Celebs tend
to pick floor length gowns, a straight cut or with some dramatic volume, but as
for most things in life, rules can be bent. A quick glance at iconic looks revealed
that a wise choice is to select a color in harmony with the Red Carpet; we’re
thinking shimmery silver, purple, or why not matching that iconic deep red. A
classic with a twist to make sure to smoothly standout; embroidered sparkles,
majestic pleats, glam’ cut-outs, it’s that unique detail that will make the
difference.
The
showstopper for the Red Carpet is the dress so the heels can be more low key,
one bit of advice, choose them relatively comfortable and easy to walk with,
you will be in the spotlight. On that note, make sure your entire glam’ look
from hair to make up and nails is on point, not to forget practicing a few
poses and getting comfy with stepping up the stairs.
Time to
mingle and meet the actors, producers, costume designers and all the passionate
people that eventually have a strong impact on our daily lives, creating
masterpieces that will widen our vision of the world. On that note, our in-house
filmmaker Nadim is being awarded this year in Cannes for his short film ‘Maman’,
and he just asked us what to wear: we say tuxedo with a bow tie, but why not go
bold too, with a touch of sparkle.
